About Rocky

Rocky has had a rough start to life. He was first rescued as a 6 week old pup along with 6 other pitbulls from an unimaginable start to life of neglect, abuse and human ignorance in the southern desert of California. I was able to rescue him, his mother and 5 of his kin. Things were good then for about a year until I myself was the one now being abused and held in captivity. I refused to leave the dogs in this situation. I did not leave them. After two years, 10 dogs and myself were all finally rescued. 6 pups were dropped off in Las Vegas as a last effort to save them. From there I was able to bring the 4 left with me and we headed to a safe place here in Wisconsin. Because of the abuse and displacement Rocky has become very protective and has on occasion acted out with aggression towards my other male dog and a human trespasser on our property. He is very sweet and loves his humans when he feels comfortable and gets to know you, though. A meet and greet is a must! He has a strong prey instinct and wouldn't be fit around cats or other animals. Children are not a good fit right now. He needs a strong individual both physically and willed to help get him to his forever home and rehabilitation. I believe he would be a great candidate for sometype of boot camp. He needs a human to have the time and patience and he needs to be resocialized in a structured environment. Rocky is very smart. He is trained to sit and stay for the most part and heel. He loves his kennel. He is approximately 50# and has had his first round of shots and most recently a rabies vaccination.
