A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet. Emma Scottie mix 2 years old, spayed 23 lbs. Look at this beautiful face, her eyes look right through to your soul. Emma along with her siblings were dropped off at a kill shelter in Texas & were transferred to another shelter who were desperately trying to help these sweet loves, it appeared they may of been feral & locked up somewhere & poor sweet Emma had a massive wound on her thigh which we soon learnt was a raging skin infection from severe neglect & when she was young she had gotten distemper & by the grace of God survived. We got everyone to the vets & got them all medical care & straight to a trainer for the true healing to begin. Emma flourished ever so quickly with our amazing trainer & then went into a foster home where she learnt what it was like to be loved & cherished & to live inside, have her own bed & her own toys, treats & her own bowel to eat out of. Emma is such a sweet character, in her foster home in CA she would pick up her empty food bowel & carry it outside, her true personality had begun to shine. She would sleep with the foster mum in her bed with her along with her foster siblings. The signs of Emma's tremors from having the distemper were quite apparent even more so when Emma is sleeping or sitting still & this will continue on with her her throughout her life, but it does not seem to affect her enjoying her new zest for life. It was time for Emma to come back to WA to her foster home here where she has been doing amazing. Initially she was glued to one spot on the couch. After 2-3 days her beautiful personality started to shine through and her curiosity got the best of her. She loves to sleep on the bed with her foster parents. At times they wake up with her snoozing away, her chin on top of their heads. She loves playing with her foster sister Who is a bigger dog. She loves food and treats which is the way to her heart. We are working with Emma that she has to share the humans affection. She even cuddles with our house guest. She is not good with cats and should go to a home without any. She loves to run all around the yard, playing chase with the other dogs. Emma does not like being closed in a crate. When the humans leave she hangs out in the bedroom with the other dogs. She is sweet, curious and once her shell cracks open for you it is 100% love. She enjoys good stuffed and chew toys. Emma is spayed, chipped, up to date of her shots, heart worm negative & absolutely does not like crates & should never be put into a crate. She travels quite well in the car once she trusts you & is comfortable with you & does take several days to warm up before her true beautiful personality appears. She loves other dogs & can only go to a forever home who has a fully fenced yard with lots of space for her & her doggy friends to run around in, an apartment would not work for Emma. Emma can also only go to a forever home with another active dog or dogs present in the home as she enjoys the company of other dogs. Emma has been around a cranky cat in her foster home, it's always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children. Emma has been around very respectful teenagers. As with all of our rescues & Emma's friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Emma & going through the process and have read her listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview, and a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it's a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Emma that meet all the requirements for this little sweet little lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Emma has an adoption fee of $695 & is ready for her forever home. **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption.
