About Nora

Nora is the sweetest 3 years old silver pit mix. She is missing part of her back right foot due to a supposed run in with a lawnmower years ago. This setback hasn't slowed her down a bit. She runs and plays like any other dog and walks well on a leash despite her missing foot. Nora rides well in a vehicle, knows some commands and is gentle when taking treats. She is good with other dogs and LOVES belly rubs. Nora is bonded with another special dog named Newton, a one and a half year old silver pit mix and they are looking for a home together. Newton is also listed on Rescue Me. Newton and Nora stay together even when outdoors. Both are calm natured and do not seem demanding of their human; rather they just want to be in the same room. They do everything together - play, cuddle together, sleep on one another, share food, run and walk side by side, rely on one another and feel safe when the other is there. Newton takes care of her and makes sure she gets her food and treats first (partly because she is the dominant of the two). When Nora is taken out of the kennel, Newton literally loses his mind. He cries and throws himself against the kennel door trying to get out in order to be with her. He doesn't rest until she is back, safe and sound where he can lick her face and lay down next to her. Both are good with their foster's children (11 & 13 yrs old). Both have also been around cats but would rather keep their distance from them.
