About Henley

Adoption Fee: $175
Rat Terrier / Chihuahua
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Henley has a bit of a stoic expression in his photos. That's because after more than two wonderful years with his adopting family, an unfortunate change in family circumstances required that he be returned to New Rattitude. Naturally it has taken this 5-year-old Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix some time to readjust to his recent change in fortune. However, Henley is filled with hope that there is a home out there waiting for a handsome, shy fellow like him. He'll need you to be patient with him and give him time to feel secure, but once he realizes he's safe, he's going to love sitting in your lap and being petted. He'll entertain you playing with his toys, and if you have another small dog or two, so much the better because he loves wrestling and playing chase with canine buddies. (As for kitties, he might want to give chase at first, but a quick reminder that felines are friends is usually sufficient. And he has not been around children, so it's probably best that no young kids live in his forever home.) At bedtime, he'll snuggle under the covers with you and help you drift off. He promises not to take up too much room because he's a mere 10 lbs. Henley knows how to use a dog door to go out, but he does better when he goes out with his person on a regular schedule. He's also quite adept at using a potty pad indoors. He would love a fenced yard because he's not a fan of walking on leash (though he's working on it). Let this great little dog know that he doesn't have to hold that 'chin-up face' much longer and that you've got a lap and some love waiting just for him. ------------------------------------------------------ IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING HENLEY, please go to new Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application.
