About Snuggs

Snuggs is an sweet and active cat. He and his brother have been members of our family for 3+ years. Prior to that, he (they) lived with my daughter and her 2 roomates (who initially purchased the boys as kittens from a breeder in Miami, FL). We took ownership of Snuggs and his brother when my daughter was leaving the US to serve in the Peace Corps, and her roommates didn't want to continue with the cats. Both cats seemed to adjust (albeit slowly) to relocating to NJ. However, a couple of years ago Snuggs began to 'mark' throughout the home. We had him thoroughly examined by our veterinarian and found to be healthy. The vet eventually prescribed mood medication to deter his urge to continue 'marking' inside the home. Snuggs recently refused to take the medication and increased his 'marking.' Snuggs is a high energy cat and would thrive in a home with a stimulating environment. We have been taking him and his brother out twice a day for walks in the yard with harness and lead. Sometimes, he will successfully mark his territory outdoors. Unfortunately, if the weather is bad or we are not able to get him outside 2-3 times a day for exercise, he will 'mark' indoors. We know that he is not a 'bad cat', only one that requires a lot of exercise and stimulation.
