About Simba

There is a 2 year old male malamute at Grass Valley Animal Control that I'm hoping you can help. This poor guy has been through it in the last few weeks. Simba was owned by a family in Yuba County. He had a pit bull sibling named Charlie. On June 26th, Simba & Charlie escaped their yard. Someone in the community shot at them, hitting Charlie in the spine. Simba escaped injury. Both dogs were found & taken in by Yuba County animal control. Charlie didn't make it. I've attached some pictures to this email. The owners did come forward & paid the vet fees for Charlie, using all of their savings. They then were unsure of what to do with Simba. They didn't feel they had the ability to keep Simba safe, so they broken heartedly surrendered him to Yuba County Animal Control�'�| With the 4th of July holiday coming up, Yuba County became over crowded & some of the dogs were transferred to Grass Valley Animal Control. He's been at Grass Valley since early July. On July 18th, a couple from Tahoe adopted him. They returned him the very next day. They said his yowling & energy level were too much for them. This is what I know about him: 2 years old Neutered Heartworm negative Does not seem to have any medical issues Great with people Good with other dogs, but plays rough Will chase cats, the original owners say he wants to play, not hurt, but nonetheless chases cats ���S He yowls a lot. I've spoken to Grass Valley Animals control & the believe it's anxiety that's causing this. They said he settled down after a week or so of getting used to the new environment. He's young & doesn't have all his manners yet. Definitely could use some training
