Meet Hazel! She is a beautiful girl! She came to us from the Santa Rosa Animal Shelter. The shelter is such an intimidating place for small dogs that we were happy to rescue her from there because she was very nervous there and not handling it well. She was found as a stray so we don't have any idea what her back story is before the shelter. She is estimated to be 2 years old and weighs 12 pounds. We were told she is a Chihuahua mix and we have conflicting opinions on the mix. Some people think Corgi and some think Bull Terrier. You can see from her picture that she is built like she works out at the gym! Hazel is very high energy and needs someone that can keep up with her! She enjoys walking on a leash also. She can climb a chain link fence and as she was a stray she may initially try to get free as she will be unsure of any new environment. Due to this, we would like her to go to a home with a privacy fence. However once she is comfortable, which in our experience was a couple of days, she barely leaves your side and no longer tries to escape. She is very loving after she accepts you but she is definitely a one person dog! She likes to play with other dogs but does not like to share her person! We don't think she would be good with kids due to the one person thing. She has not been cat tested. She is still working on her potty training and is learning to use a dog door. She is fully vetted and spayed. She is also heartworm negative. Now all she needs is her very own person!!
