This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. A husky (or husky mix) was found by my neighbor. The dog was under his truck seeking shade during a day of near record heat. Other neighbors reported seeing the dog walking down the street and nearly getting hit. The dog had tags and when we called, the person on the other end literally could not care less about the dog. The dog appeared dehydrated and neglected. Judging by the person on the phone, it most likely was. It seems to have been used as a guard dog at a local business. The dog's temperament is ill suited for such a role. He is very gentle. We have given him a bath and picked fleas from his coat as well as brushed him with an undercoat brush. He literally sat his head in our lap and let us bathe and brush him. He has been given access to fresh water and has been drinking at his own will. He has also been provided Blue dry kibble and is eating. He spent the night inside in the air conditioning without fuss or an accident. In the morning he was taken outside to relieve himself and did so. He is docile and after 24 hours beginning to show signs of a playful personality. We are seeking the help of a rescue organization. We nothing about the dog other than the person on the tags has displayed no interest in the animal. Follow-up attempts to get them to come get him have gone unanswered. The dog is currently in the custody of my retired neighbor but I will be the point of contact. If I do not answer please leave a message and I will return the call ASAP. Again, we are seeking the assistance of a licensed rescue organization. With so many unknowns the dog needs to be seen by a vet for evaluation and tests. This dog is not available for adoption by the general public.
