Pepper is a cuddly and sweet pit who loves all people and responds very well to training. She is a small/medium dog (50lbs) who wants nothing more than to be a couch potato and lie all over her owner but loves being outside and is constantly improving her leash etiquette. Pepper is an expert at sit, down, wait (for food and doors), 'find it', touch/come, and 'gentle' (for taking treats). She was surrendered to the Brooklyn ACC and is being fostered in Manhattan, where she handles the busy streets well. Pepper still gets excited to meet new human friends on the street, where she's learning not to jump and is very wiggly/tail-waggy. Pepper get's excited to meet other dogs, though she can quickly and easily be led away if necessary. The original owner reported she plays well with other dogs but the ACC evaluation said she was tense around male dogs, and we recommend her in a single dog-family or slow acclimation to other dogs. We have personally hired a professional trainer to evaluate her social behavior starting next week. The vet considered her very healthy, though she is partially blind in her left eye, and a full report with vaccination history is available.
