Good day to you, my name is Twiggy and you read that right, I'm a Shar Pei mix. You know what that means, right? Take a look at my pictures and bask in the glory of my abundant cheeks. And just think, all that precious real estate is just waiting to be smushed and kissed by you! I am 50 pounds of cheeks, smiles, and genuine social awkwardness. I do great with kids and all the cats in my foster home seem to like me, and I'm happy to say the feeling is mutual. Hoarding is one of my specialties. I mean, I've really narrowed it down to an art. I like to carry your socks and slippers around because they smell like you. You may think that I need some help, but I prefer to see it as a very gradual robbery. And don't worry, I will not destroy your stuff and I will gladly drop your slipper if you are so sure that you need it more than I do. I am house-trained, crate-trained, and working my way toward being 100% comfortable on the leash. I love playing with toys and I'm especially happy when I can spend time outside in a fenced-in yard. So it's pretty obvious that I'm a special dog, right? Special dogs like me have special needs, and mine revolve mostly around keeping my Shar Pei skin styling and healthy. I need to take Fish Oil daily and I sometimes need Benadryl. Augusta Dog Adoptions had me treated for heart worms and recently had a bothersome mole removed for me. I'm feeling healthy, happy, and ready to ride home with you to start a new adventure! Come meet me at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA on Saturdays between 10 AM and 1 PM. And please don't laugh if I squeak at you; I'm just trying to say hi! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
