SAY HELLO TO OLIVER! Oliver is a gorgeous chocolate light colored light eyed 12 week old Flat Coated Retriever mix puppy boy. Weighing in at 14 pounds, we guess that he is going to grow to be a good sized dog. Pure breed male Flat coats can range from 50 to 60 pounds full grown. We are guessing as a mix, he will likely be in the 50 pound range. What can we say about this delicious baby? One look into those stunning amber eyes and you will just fall in love! Oliver is just the most super sweet boy! He loves to play and play and play some more and would do great with other pets. Oliver has been living with his foster family who has both a big and small dog as well as a cat and enjoys their company very much. Oliver knows how to use the dog door and uses it only when supervised by his family. He is mostly potty trained which is excellent considering his young age. He is still a puppy (LOVE his puppy breath!) so he will need the usual gentle guidance and patience that is always needed with a puppy in a new home environment. But he has had much training with his foster family, so the transition will be easy. Oliver still has that puppy mischief and curiosity! He is very gentle but just LOVES to find things like paper to rip to shreds and if he smells something good just tossed in the trash, he is very interested in seeing what it was and why it was tossed! But those are easily corrected habits as he is very bright! He is not destructive at all and has never chewed any furniture or shoes. Oliver's ideal family will be an active one with a large yard. His family needs to be one that will have the time to walk and excercise him as well as not be gone long hours each day. He would thrive with a family that might have another dog similar in size and temperament for companionship as he loves being with his foster mates. He is learning walking on the leash and does quite well on it. He rides pretty ok in the car as being he is so young, everything is an adventure full of excitement! Oliver would make a wonderful best friend for a family that has kids to romp around with him. We think kids that are over the age of 8 that will understand and respect dog guardianship as well as not be too rough with him. Oliver is a medium coated breed, so he will only require baths as needed and regular nail trims and teeth cleaning. Oliver's adoption fee is $ 400.00 This fee includes his Veterinarian Wellness checks while here at the rescue, his neuter, all age appropriate vaccinations including rabies and bordatella, some basic house training and socialization, de-worming, a pre-adoption professional groom and a microchip with lifetime membership. Oliver will also have a new collar and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality grain free puppy kibble that he has been eating. His adoption fee also allows us the ability to put funds towards the next little one in need of rescue!
