About Dublin

Schnauzer / Cairn
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young pup. Dublin is the kind of puppy who snuggles in, loves you up and then puts his head on your shoulder. He's so sweet (while being initially a bit shy) and very loving with every possibility open to him. This is the case unless a puppy like Dublin is unwanted with his guardians deciding if they should relinquish him to a high-kill shelter or drop him off on the streets. We're so grateful for the efforts of our compassionate rescuer who wouldn't allow it to happen. She accepted Dublin into her home, nurtured him with kindness, fell in love with his sweetness.. and contacted Farfel's Rescue to find this wonderful puppy a family that would love and respect him forever. When we think of rescue, our thoughts don't usually go onto the tough neighborhoods of an urban city where breeding is a means to an end. These forgotten dogs deserve our help every bit as much as their shelter counterparts. Many have been used for opportunistic purposes...to either breed and discard or to sell as a puppy. Those that have lived on the streets often survive by learning social skills. They are engaging with people because they're their only means of survival. They try to fit quietly into any scene to earn a treat or discarded meal. This was the life that Dublin was looking at as his future. Dublin is a gorgeous and engaging 5 month old, 4 lb sweet and puppy-silly guy (anticipated to be approximately 8 lbs when full-grown). This is such a perfect size to be able to accompany his family just about anywhere.. and will fit right in due to his great temperament. It's his nature to have sweet, cuddly and cooperative behavior and understands that these great qualities make wonderful things happen in life. As Dublin becomes comfortable in his home, he will blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please...the happier his family is with his behavior, the more he will shine with his accomplishments. We would like to see Dublin in a home that includes him in family time and activities (and some lap or couch-time with belly rubs would be perfect!)... as well as taking that extra step to participate in positive reinforcement group obedience classes. These classes take a very smart and cooperative puppy like Dublin and teaches them the skills to accompany their family out into the world with great behavior. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of force-free trainers in your area. Dublin will be a very devoted companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a loving young pup. He will also do well with a younger family with dog-crazy kids that can shower attention and love on this sweet guy. Dublin would enjoy another gentle dog or puppy to play with...he's so sweet as he puts his positive energy into enjoying the day with a fun friend. Dublin appears to be a non-shedding (or lightly shedding) puppy with the Schnauzer- scruffy hair that speaks of his breed mix. He will require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a lifelong salmon oil supplement is recommended for longevity and coat care) to keep his hair cottony-soft and matt-free. Dublin will be arriving on transport in Denver on 7/28/1l8. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If you're interested in this extremely sweet, cuddly and fun-loving best friend, please fill out our application completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Dublin please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving guy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
