About Tommy

Thunder is a sweet little stray we found who is finally ready for a new forever home. He really is the sweetest little thing and is definitely a people dog! He just wants to follow you around all day and lay with you on the couch. He loves to sleep under the covers with you but will also sleep in kennel happily. He is good on a leash and loves car rides and walks. He is also very quiet for a little dog and rarely barks. He is house trained and kennel trained but doesnt like to be left outside for long periods of time. He is super submissive and this makes him great with kids! Now for the bad: He is just fine with our many dogs and cat now, but he was very snappy at first and it took firm discipline for several weeks before he could be fully trusted. Now he plays with our smallest dog and sleeps next to the cat with just the occasional snap so he still needs some work in this department. His second bad habit is that he is an escape artist. This is probably why he ended up with us. The first week or so he was with us he obsessively paced our fence and eventually figured out how to escape what we thought was a secure picket fence and took off. Hes been here for over a month now and no longer tries so i believe this is a manageable problem especially once he gets comfortable with his home. Overall this guy would be great in almost any home situation with a little love, patience, and consistent discipline. His dream home would have kids and a buddy who loves to play, but any home with a person of his own to follow around and love would make this sweet little guy the happiest dog. I will be requiring a home check and rehoming fee which is negotiable(i would happily accept dog food, beds, toys etc!) to the perfect home. Rehoming fee goes towards feeding and caring for the strays and fosters we always have. We will also always take back any foster should their new home not work out for any reason.
