About Scruffy

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Hi-ya! My name is Scruffy, and if you are looking for a cuddly comedian to keep you entertained, I am the sweet dude for you! I am a 2-year-old Jack Russell Terrier/wire-haired terrier/doxie mix who is looking for a loving forever home through Fetching Tails Foundation. I am uniquely handsome with my wiry silver-gray hair. Like an abstract painting, I have many one-of-a-kind white and tan streaks and swirls highlighting my body and face. And at about 25 pounds, I am a little guy who will fit perfectly onto your lap and into your heart! My friends from Fetching Tails saved me from Chicago Animal Care & Control, where my friend (and fellow adoptable) Clyde and I were surrendered by our previous family. The busy shelter was overwhelming for us, but thankfully we never had to go back to the kennels because fosters quickly stepped up to help us out! I love my foster home and am having so much fun! My favorite activities include going for walks through the neighborhood and park with my foster momma, playing with all the toys I can get my little mouth on, and most especially playing with my canine foster sibling. I love other dogs, and absolutely have to have a doggie friend in my forever home to keep me company and play with to my heart's content. I can be shy at first with new people, but once you give me a couple minutes to warm up I am your BFF for life. I would prefer a forever home with no young children because they make me a little nervous; a quiet home with adults is definitely more my jam! Once I am done with my playful activities, nothing makes me happier than curling up with the people I love for a long snuggle session. I have wonderful house manners, as well; you might even call me your little gentleman! I am potty and crate trained, and I don't chew on anything I am not supposed to. I do enjoy running around the house when I am playing with my doggie friends, so I hope you have some space where I can do my sprints! I would also love for my human to be home more often than not; I can be left for a few hours at a time but I really love being around my person so someone who works from home or is home for most of the day would be really special. I must admit I get a kick out of sneaking up and stealing toys from my canine foster sibling, so I guess I am 90 percent gentleman and 10 percent mischievous goofball!
