*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Howdy, y'all! My name is Ruddy, but you can also call me Buddy or Mr. Handsome! I am a 4-year-old, large mixed breed dude who is looking for a forever home to call my own. I am about 80 pounds of love and have stunning shepherd-like coloring: soft black and tan fur, and the biggest smile you can find. My playful personality and long supermodel legs would match well with active humans who are looking for a best furry friend to keep them company on adventures! My friends from Fetching Tails saved me from Chicago Animal Care and Control, where I found myself after my previous owner passed away. I was so happy to settle into my foster home and leave the loud, busy shelter behind. I love to have a good time, and am having a blast at my foster home! My favorite activities include hanging out outside, whether for walks or romping and relaxing the grass. My ideal forever home includes a fenced yard where I can enjoy myself and unwind with my favorite people. I also love to go on adventures: car rides are my jam and I love exploring the big, wide world on long walks. If an adventure pal sounds like your ideal pup, I am definitely the guy for you! I love to be around my people, and when we come inside from our fun outings I love to be right by your side. I would prefer to be an only pet as I can be picky about my dog friends and definitely like to have all your attention and affection focused on me! I am obedient fella and have great household manners, too. I am potty trained and can be left home alone without issue while my foster parents have to leave for work or errands. I also know a lot of commands and am eager to please my people. As long as I have an outlet for my playful energy and people who love me, I am the happiest boy around!
