About Bear

Hello, my name is Bear. I am almost 3 years old, with an estimated birthdate of November 15, 2015. I lost my way, and no one came looking for me,| eventually, I was brought in to the Harris County Animal Shelter. They had scheduled to put me to sleep, but thankfully a Rescue, and a loving Foster came to my rescue the night before I was scheduled. Since I was saved, I have had a rough time getting my health back in order. I was first diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection, that did not subside with antibiotics. My illness turned in to the doggie flu, and I was given many more antibiotics to help get me back in to tip top shape. After a long uphill battle, I recovered, with the help of medicine and lots of love and attention. I like to fetch and retrieve, I like to chase squirrels and birds, I like to be loved on and hugged. I absolutely love kids, but do not fare to well with small animals, as they all look like birds to me, and I will most likely try to chase them. I get along well with female dogs after a gradual and proper introduction. However, I prefer to be the man of the house, when it comes to other male dogs. I am quite a strong fella, and have energy abound... so this would need to be taken in to consideration, if looking to adopt me. I will also require a fenced and secure backyard. I am ready for a loving forever home.
