About Cali Ann

Calianne (Cali for short) is a 2 and a half year old German Shepherd at 62 pounds who is looking for a good home. She cannot be around cats or dogs who are smaller than her. Her ideal home would be with no other pets. We have a smaller dog and cats and because she has pursued them she has to be kept in a private room during the day. We are walking her and spending time with her but we realize this is a horrible situation for her and wish for her to be in a home where she can get the companionship that she so badly needs. She has a skin issue at the moment that we have been treating with medicated baths and animax ointment but is not clearing up and so she will need veterinary care for it. (I cannot afford to get her seen). She had this same skin issue almost a year ago and it was due to a flea allergy and stress chewing. She is spayed, up to date on shots and rabies vaccine. She is on Advantage 2 every month. She will chew her feet/legs when stressed out. She also does not like her feet being touched and clipping her nails can sometimes be hard to do. She is leery of some men (she was very badly abused by one before we got her) but loves women. She is fine with kids. She cannot be crated at all because she will freak out to the point of hurting herself. She is currently on a home cooked and raw diet. She has food allergies so it's been easier and cheaper to home cook for her than to try and find a commercial dog food out there that she could have. She loves to go for walks, go for rides and play. She's eager to learn new things as long as there are treats to be had. She loves toys, except ones that squeak too much, and has a stuffed pig and a t-shirt that she likes to carry around with her.
