Lucy: 7 yr old; Sex: Female; Weight 30 lb; Breed: Welsh Corgi/ Border Collie; Activity Level: Active Companion; Coat: Rough BW. Lucy is located in MD and is part of the TX rescue. When we feel it is a perfect match we will ensure her safety to your home. Lucy finds herself on a 2nd journey for a Foster to Adopt/Adoptive home with rescue and this journey she is done with all the sharing it's time for her!! It was just 6.5 yrs ago Lucy had found herself in a rural shelter with a damaged limb and lack of trust which her rescue had developed keeping her boundaries of course the dogs in the rescue home are too much stimulation and old feelings. Life has changed for her and her previous adoptive family in MD changing lifestyle multiple moves and with a 2 yr old toddler and baby 2 on the away; and as common in busy homes with lots of change her doggie house mate and Lucy have had some issues and let's face it it's time for Lucy to be the only queen to her humans!! True to all herding dogs Lucy is stimulation responsive and needs to find outlets to release this energy, boundaries in the home with a dog savvy person who would like to interact differently with a dog using fun treat based training systems in place for leash walks (stimulation triggers her she needs to rebuild her confidence and trust in her person), outings like Starbucks or Parks, inside games as well keeping the mind a busy. Lucy can jog like any other dog with 4 legs and she is very fast when really enjoying her old passion going for bike rides, I know she would love direction to follow you on a golf cart the home has property. If you have met a dog that needs to work and enjoys it that's Lucy. She is best when given direction earning more freedom rewards and she adores people. The ideal home for her is a dog savvy home; crate trained home with a break during a work day; possibly 1 calm child 8 up; no other animals; space between neighbors; 6 foot privacy fence. Lucy is fully vetted, micro chipped, been on Sentinal and crate house trained. Her adoption fee is $175 you must fill out an application for Lucy pictures maybe asked at this time, home visit where applicable, please allow the rescue to inquire about previous training .
