About July

July is fostered in North Fort Myers, FL (Lee County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families! July is a 4-month-old Australian cattle dog puppy rescued from a shelter with her sister. We will not be adopting them out together. July is the calmer, quieter and smaller of the two pups. She loves to lie in your lap and cuddle. She is very active when playing with her sister. She is extremely smart and doing well at potty training. She gets along well with the four adult heelers in her foster home, and seems to respect the space of the two older heelers that aren't quite as inviting to puppy play. They both are voracious eaters, play well together and with any toy that is given to them (including pinecones from the yard). They do have very sharp nails & are beginning to lose their puppy teeth. They don't seem to bother the horses and are learning to come when they are called. They have not been tested with cats as of yet. They do not walk on a leash at this time - this is a skill they will have to acquire with time and training in their forever homes. They both are very eager to please & love it when you scoop them up & kiss them! Both pups will make wonderful companions. Please research the needs and tendencies of this breed before inquiring. We will require that July's forever home have a fenced yard, and preferably experience with heelers. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, and microchipped.
