About Shelby

Border Collie
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Let's talk about Shelby. 2 yr old girl Border Collie. Ice blue eyes. She needed her life saved. The shelter just can't lend itself to her dietary needs. Shelby has had her share of challenges. A simple blood test revealed a genetic deficiency in pancreatic enzyme, causing the emaciated condition in which she came to me in. She was literally starving no matter how much she ate. And she didn't understand why either. She's now on an inexpensive product (Bio Case), sprinkle a 1/2 teaspoon on her twice daily meals. Shelby's world is changed. She's put on the much needed weight, her coat is beautiful, and her demeanor is calm and happy! Shelby came into the shelter, beat up, hair loss, starving, and pregnant. No choice but to spay right then, and then get her here for a chance at a good, healthy life. Shelby is doing well! Loves the yard. Loves the dogs, and she's great off leash and packs up with the others. Shelby will catch a ball, and fetch all day long, as well as anything into the water. This dog will take herself for a swim! She is quite striking with those ice blue eyes! Shelby is sweet and friendly. A little reserved with new people, but comfortable when introduced properly. We waited a while for her outside appearance to match her insides! But Shelby has come into her own like I didn't know possible. Gorgeous little Border Collie. Because of Shelby's challenges, and her feeding regime (she can't eat any other dogs food), she is very fortunate to have Penny welcome her in as a foster. However, I'm looking for an adopter for her, NOW! She needs to eat only her food, with her enzymes sprinkled on it. That's tough when you free feed dogs. Shelby will be adopted with her enzyme powder. This protocol is very simple, but not when you have a lot of dogs. The over the counter Bio Case powder, she uses 1/2 teaspoon twice a day. Comes in a 12 oz = 144 servings ($63), about a 3 month supply, or 2.2 lb size jars ($172). 878 servings, lasts over 2 years. For a happy and healthy Shelby, not expensive in the scheme of things.
