About Peaches

Adoption Fee: $50
Boxer / American Bulldog
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

Peaches was found as a stray in Mesa, Arizona at apartment complex at the age of 3 months. She was brought to Maricopa Animal Care and Control by a good Samaritan in hopes that her owners would be found. Shortly after her intake it was realized that Peaches had an intestinal tract infection called coccidiodomycosis - a single cell protozoan that invades the intestines of small animals (who's immune system is not up to par to fight off such infections) due to other animals nearby having the same infection. Peaches had severe abdominal bloat, diarrhea, and was in great discomfort. She has been in our care since receiving Antibiotics, Anthelminthics, tick and flea medication, and pain medications. Peaches was treated for kennel cough, Tape worms, and has received several rounds of de-worming medication. Peaches will require another dose of de-worming medication in a few weeks to ensure she stays worm-free. She has since been caught up on all of her shots, she's spayed, micro-chipped, and ready for a fur-ever home. Peaches does well with humans, other dogs and loves car rides. Peaches is Doggy door trained, house trained (in-progress), and enjoys walks on a leash. Peaches is a lap dog, and loves to cuddle with her foster parents, lay near them when they are sitting, and go with them for car rides. Peaches, although she is in our custody, is actually property of Maricopa Animal care and Control, and thus any prospective owner/family must fill out and complete MCACC's paperwork at the time of adoption. The adoption fee is based on what Maricopa Animal Care charges (which changes with current promotions), no monies will be paid to the foster parents (thus the adoption fee is non-negotiable). Prospective adopters should know that Peaches has A LOT to grow, currently she is 30.9 pounds, 1.5 feet tall and will probably max out at 45-60 pounds and 3-3.5 feet tall. She will need to be an indoor dog as she has a short muzzle, and thus snores when she sleeps, and overheats easily when outside in the summer. Adopters should also know that as Peaches ages, strangers may confuse her with being an aggressive dog based on perception versus reality, as such she will need you to advocate for her. Please contact us in order to arrange a meet and greet to allow you to see what a special dog Peaches is. For the benefit of you, your family and Peaches prior to adoption, we require a home visit and sleep over to ensure the best outcome for you all. ***Click on the youtube link to watch a video of me!***
