About Fitz

Fitz is a 20 week old Chihuahua mix puppy. He currently weighs about 7 pounds. He came to us from a shelter in Texas that is bursting at capacity. It seems someone got him when he was old enough to leave his mother and decided they were not ready for raising a puppy and he ended up at the shelter. Fitz is an adorable puppy who loves to be picked up and held like a baby. He can be held upside down on his back and loves to have his belly rubbed in this position. You won't find a pup that loves to be snuggled as much as little Fitz. Because he is a puppy he needs a home that has the ability to get him outside every 4 hours or so to continue his successful beginning on housetraining. Fitz should also not be in a home with small children or large dogs. When he arrived we could see that Fitz had a cherry eye. This is when the tear producing gland under the 3rd eyelid prolapses or pops out and shows in the corner of the dog's eye. It is easily repaired with a surgery that tacks the gland back into place. Fitz has had this repair surgery and there is no damage to his eyesight now or in the future from this. The pictures of him were taken before the surgery and you can still see it in the corner of his eye. Fitz is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and heartworm tested.
