About Sunset

Hi my name is Sunset. You may wonder how I got my name, well, I was found living by myself on the streets and a nice person rescued me just as the sun was setting with a beautiful pink sky and they told me tomorrow and all of the days that follow would be beautiful for me. My rescuer said I looked like I had lost all hope and my eyes looked empty. All I know is I was so scared and had no idea what was going on. You see my past is unknown but I have been given a second chance! I'm approximately 2 years old. When I was rescued by the wonderful people at Husky Haven of Florida I was skinny and underweight. I looked like a sack of bones. I was covered from head to toe with fleas, and I had all kinds of yucky things in my body stealing what nourishment I could find on the streets. Within two days of my rescue, I was being treated for the worms and was flea free. No more bites and itching. I now have a warm bed and people who give me love. Within those two days I did a complete 360! My foster mom said I now have hope, love and happiness in my gorgeous blue eyes. All I want is to love and to be loved. I do not like cats or little dogs. When I had to spend time in the shelter I met some that I didn't like at all. I've been having a lot of fun running around and playing with the two other huskies that live in this home I've been staying at. They do not have any children here so I'm not sure what I would think about them. I'm not too fond of being in a crate, if I'm in there for a long time I use my ninja skills to break out. I don't really know any basic commands. I've been trying to learn the rules of the house, it's easy if I copy what the other dogs do like going to the back door when I need to go potty. I really like being near my foster mom and dad. I follow them around the house to make sure they don't get lost. I like taking long walks and do really well with the leash, I won't pull you at all. I love going for car rides, I like looking at the things all around and when I get tired I just lay down and take a nap. I'd love to have a home to call my own with someone that will give me lots of love and snuggles every day. Another doggy would be great so I have someone to play with. Please understand we are a volunteered basis organization so we can't set a timeline, however, we work hard to process as fast as we can. We DO NOT have any additional photos other than the ones posted on our website and we try to be as honest as we can in each pet's bio. Please read carefully each bio, all information that we know is in there. If it's not there we do not know. Additionally, all of our dogs are in foster homes. We DO NOT have a shelter or location. They are in private homes with families. Therefore, you must have an approved application prior to setting up a meet and greet. Finally, thank you for your interest in adoption. Your application is key. Many times, we find you apply for one dog but that one might not be the best fit for your family. We will suggest if another one that is available will be better suited.
