About Kewpie

Kewpie was born about March 5, 2018 and will likely top out in the 25 lb. range, but we are truly guessing at breed here. (His sister looks very much like a Beagle mix) He is adorable, sweet, fun, funny and full of life! He is enjoying all the other dogs and has been a pleasure to live with. He is one of 4 little pups that were so luck that Stephanie Smith-Justus volunteer President of Buchanan County (VA) humane society, was out running errands! Stephanie noticed 2 puppies crying in a closed up tight car on an 84 degree day. She tracked down the owners and when they told he if they left them home the other 17 dogs would kill them, she told them to either hand the dogs over or she would call the police! She said that these tiny ones were sweet and loving despite the skin conditions that were due to severe flea infestations. Stephanie also asked if they'd like any help in placing any of the other 17 and so they added 2 more...so here are 4 little sweethearts alive today because Stephanie intervened. She's a 'no-nonsense' lady when animals lives are at risk. Thank you Stephanie and, hopefully, they'll realize they could use help with more and stay in touch with you. This is all we know so far as the southern shelter doesn't ask questions on intake as they feel it is embarrassing since the reason is so often financial due to so much poverty.
