About Dixiebelle

Dixiebelle is fostered in Indian Rocks Beach, FL (Pinellas County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families. Dixiebelle is a petite 20-month-old border collie mix weighing in at only 31 lbs. She has great house manners and knows sit, shake, and stay! She is housebroken and crate trained. She is new to leash walking but has mastered that in a very short time. Dixie is very smart and a super fun girl. She loves to play frisbee, ball, with squeaky toys and swims like a fish at the beach. She bonds super fast to her human and would flourish in a environment where she gets lots of one-on-one activity and attention. Another companion dog is not necessary but a fenced yard is. She gets snarly and stares down small or persistent dogs that get in her space, so she is suited for placement in a home with balanced dogs of her size or larger only. She would be a great jogging or walking buddy as well as a dock diving prospect. She loves to play but has an off switch as well, and not over-the-top crazy energy. Young children are not recommended nor has she been tested with them. Cats are also unknown but a likely no for her. Dixiebelle is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, microchipped and heartworm-free.
