About Daisy

Adoption Fee: $275
Corgi / Shetland Sheepdog
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Adoption pending 1/2/19. Daisy describes herself as a six year old as of Sept., Corgi Mix, and up to date on all vaccines. She has a full long hair coat and busy tail but has a summer cut which is recommended. She has a heavy undercoat if not clipped. She is crate trained and housebroken. Daisy's owner released her to rescue as Daisy was not good with their young children, one an 18 month old toddler. Daisy has a prey drive and when being walked if she sees a squirrel, she will lunge out so a 'strong hold' on the leash at all times on walks is necessary. She is more of a loner dog so is not a candidate for a dog park (off leash) or a dog beach. The best way to socialize her more with other dogs is to take her to a Petsmart small group class for obedience. She loves her foster mom as she loved her previous owner mom. She needs a yard and would be better suitable for a female owner. She knows some basic commands, loves to play ball and Frisbee as well as go on long walks. While on a leash she is not aggressive unless another dog comes alongside so 'crossing and crisscrossing the street to avoid close encounters with other dogs, especially those on the '15' flexi leash is required'. . She is super smat and would be a good candidate for some behavior training and does not do well in a stress, noisy environment. She needs a quiet home. She wants to 'run or go inside' if she hears a trash truck, loud car, bus or motorcycle so again a strong grip on the leash is an 'always must'. She should be walked with a martingale no slip collar and a standard 6' leash. Never use a flexi or extendable leash. She tends to react in new situations and with loud noises. Please email this rescue for a pre adopt application. Adoption process: Pre adopt ap, home check, contract, two week trial period and donation to rescue of $275.
