I had a dream and desire to help rescue the unwanted, unloved, and lost feline species. My awareness of how many stray/feral cats that were living amongst us in Hinesville GA started when my husband deployed to Iraq and I was all alone. Because of one beautiful cat, I named Milky, who was curious about me as I was with her I now had a purpose, a passion, and desire to help reduce, protect, and feed feral and stray cats. While still in school I got a job to help my feline friends to spay and neuter, annual shots, flea treatment, and food. I was never looking to find cats to rescue, it was them who always ended up crossing paths with me. So when my husband (now ex-husband) was in the process of being medically discharged from the Army I knew I had to find us a farm with a lot of acres where I could continue to rescue, care for, and had good intentions to find furrever homes. My happy 4 years on the farm turned for the worst and crumbled before my eyes when I lost my husband to addiction. I had to move to a place that was affordable and pet friendly. Needless to say, the house I rent is not safe for me or my cats. In one year, I have lost 3 cats killed by another animal, health conditions I have never dealt with before due to the stray cats that are on my property, and worst of all, to see their demeanors change from relaxed and comfortable to fear and on edge. For a long time I was filled with guilt how I failed them, but now unable to afford their annual shots, unable to protect them from the dangers that lurk outside, and unable to give the life I promised them. I am asking for help. Help me, not fail them, in a life they deserve, a furrever home. I need to move to WI to be with my family and need to find homes for my feline loves. I will forever be in debt to your kindness of taking on the responsibility of caring and loving my cats. Shelters are always maxed out with kittens and I don't have the heart to surrender them to shelter to only reach their demise. I have written to non-profit organizations that foster animals and they as well cannot take anymore cats in. I lost hope for my cats and even talked to my vet doctor about euthanizing my cats as a last resort. I cannot and will not abandon them to fend for themselves and die a miserable death. I promised them safety, love, health care, and food. They now rely on me. I came across Rescue Me. I read multiple adoptee stories. And, I finally, have hope again. Rescue Me could be the answer to my heartbreaking situation. Maybe someone will read my cat's story and want to give them a life I no longer can. A second chance for a furrever home. Gypsy is my most precious beautiful feline I have next to her sister Milky (who is no longer with us). All Gypsy needed was my patience, trust, and love to make a true feral from the woods become tame and coexist with other cats, dogs, and farm animals. It took me a year before I could touch her. That first touch was an unbreakable bond between us. If it was just me and her, I know for a fact, she could/would take the next step on her own and willingly want to become a house cat. She already comes in the house, but never stays long. She is terrified of thunderstorms and will run under my bed, but as soon as the storm is over out the door she goes. I would love nothing more then to bring her to WI with me, but the move and where I am residing would be too much for her gentle soul. I believe a single women who knows/understands cats, has time and patients, and lives in a quiet setting could earn her trust. She would furrever be your Furry Feline Angel. If there is someone out there who is up for the challenge of winning Gypsy's trust and giving her chance what I always wanted her to be and what she has always desired to become, a house cat, I would pay for Gypsy's medical bills for the rest of her life. To be 100% feral, to coexist among other animals and humans, and then to become 100% a house cat would be pure joy for you, her, and me. Gypsy is a survivor. She deserves a simple life. A comfortable life. The donation I request, which I could not financially provide on my own for the last year, is their rabies shot $10.00, combo shot $45.00, dewormer $5.00, and Revolution (top of line parasitic flea treatment) $21.00. I will pay for the first adopted cat and every cat adopted after that will pay for themselves with your kind donation to have them vaccinated before arriving to your home. I would also like to show how to cut her nails. Easy!! Time is not on my side nor hers. Please give Gypsy a chance for a furrever home. Thank you for reading my story.
