About Rusty

Meet Rusty! Rusty is Lab/Chesapeake Bay Retriever approx. 54 pounds, 9-10 months old that is super sweet. Rusty has never been taught anything prior to coming into our program. He has a good amount of energy, but we would say he is more in the mid range because he calms nicely. He does require plenty of exercise, discipline and consistency to achieve balance. He will definitely require a large fenced in yard to romp around in. Rusty has all the right ingredients to become a wonderful dog for a lucky family. Rusty requires obedience training, patience and love as any young pup would. Rusty is already house broken and crate trained. He is learning basic cues. Rusty is also learning to walk on a leash , but does some pulling, but not to bad. He rides great in a car once he settles in and is a quiet boy. He is very loving, good around people and other dogs. We have not tested him around cats. He has not been around small children and even though we believe he would not hurt a fly Rusty maybe too rambunctious and a little mouthy to be around young kids. Rusty would be fine around teenagers and ideal for young active adults. Rusty would do well with an active empty nester that needs a wonderful companion dog to enjoy life with. He is the perfect dog to pal around with and would make a single adult a wonderful best friend.
