About Bear

FOSTER LOCATION: Middleton, ID Adoption Fee: $50 Age: 4 Neutered, vaccinated Bear is a 4 year old male Harrier Hound mix (our best guess) who came to Fuzzy Pawz when his family could no longer care for him. This handsome boy is very people oriented so much so that he shows a lot of enthusiasm when meeting them. His joy in people tends to get him in trouble as he will jump on them and smother them with doggie affection. His only people issue is small kids - they seem to freak him out a bit, we think he doesn't understand how to interact with them - so please no kids under 12 for him. Bear is an active dog and really needs a good fenced yard (no apartments please) and will need an active household. Long walks, runs, hikes, he is up for all of it and needs that exercise on a daily basis to keep him healthy and happy. He's okay on leash but does get the zoomies at first. House trained and good manners makes Bear a lovely boy to live with! He's lived with other dogs his entire life but has never figured out a good play style. He gets over excited during play and goes overboard which leads to dog fights. He'd be fine living with another dog that is a little more low-key than he is or as an only dog. He should not have cats in his home as he does chase them; so far he's never caught one but we don't want to take any chances. This handsome boy does have some environmental allergies and is on a daily dose of Apoquel. Apoquel costs around $50 a month. He is also currently on a limited ingredient dog food to help control his symptoms. Bear would love to join your family; he'll follow you to the ends of the earth.
