About Howie

Posted 7/11/18, and pictures were taken on 4/20/18. Howie was tagged from the Smith County, TX Animal Shelter by Barbette with Street Savvy Dog Rescue in Oregon, and I picked him up on 5/15/17 to foster until transport on 7/25/17 after receiving treatment for heartworms. Howie was picked up on Hancock Drive on 2/24/17 weighing 49 pounds, heartworm positive, and estimated to be 4 years old, so he was born in 2013. He was neutered on 5/20/17 weighing 50.8 pounds. Howie was not working out at the home he was at in Oregon, and Barbette uses foster homes, so she did not have anywhere to put him to work with him, so I offered to have him brought back to me since we have 6.5 acres here. He does well with other dogs of either gender, but inside the house he becomes overprotective with people, so would probably be a good guard dog for someone, or an outside dog with a fenced yard. He is fine around my 12 year old son holding the leash. I have him in a large fenced area with five other dogs that he does well with. Four of the dogs are female, and one is male.
