Adoption Fee: $175
Foxhound mix
Age: Young Adult

Hi! My name is Bonnie and I am a hoarder. Alone, scared, and pregnant (at only 1-2 years old), I found myself on the kill list at a shelter in the middle of nowhere. Being a pregnant hound in a rural shelter didn't give me much of a chance of making it out alive. Luckily, some wonderful people came and got me (and two other lucky dogs) on what was scheduled to be my last day on earth. I made it out alive, but none of my puppies made it. I know my story is sad, but here's where it gets better, keep reading! A nice lady came and took me to her house and WOW, the things I have seen and been exposed to! Like cars (some of them even moving) lawnmowers, other dogs, a yard to run and play in, a house with dog beds (ask my foster about this), a TV, all of the food I want, tons of toys...The list is endless! And so are my smiles, even after the heart ache. I am really trying hard to take it all in and get used to things. I walk with my foster mom and my foster brother a few times a day and I am getting much better at the walking thing. I have done great with not using the bathroom inside. I love other dogs (still figuring out this play thing they want to do), and I have been around a tiny human that I enjoyed following around the yard. My foster brother and I have an entire bedroom and hallway that we share at night time. Even though we have two crates in there, sometimes we like to lay together in the same one. I feel comforted when I have another dog around. I keep all my toys and like to put them in the crate with me. My foster mom thinks that I do this because I miss my babies. I don't mind if my foster brother takes them and plays with them either. When he's finished, I just take them back in the crate with me. My foster brother actually came from the same shelter I did at the same time. There are two other big dogs that also live in the same house. We all get to go outside and run around the house and the yard together. I have been here two weeks, at this house, and I am starting to get comfortable with being inside and around my foster mom. It will take me some time to get used to you, but when I do I will follow you around and love you with all of my heart. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
