About Petey

No Fee to a Good Home! Home visit required. If you are looking for a loyal friend, we are still looking for the ideal home for Petey. He is about 15 months old and appears to be a Staffordshire/Boxer mix. He is neutered and chipped and has all his shots. He is on oral HW and Flea meds. Paperwork available. He is affectionate and obedient. He takes well to training. He understands 'no, sit, leave it, and is getting better at stay. He walks well with harness and leash. He is very agreeable to whatever you want to do. Could be a good jogging buddy. He plays fetch, but is just as happy to cuddle or nap with you. Belly rubs are his favorite. He will follow you around and lie down next to you. He is friendly and playful with some dogs but dislikes others so a meet and greet is vital. He does not like cats or wildlife that trespasses in 'his yard'. He enters his crate readily but does not like car rides. He has not been around a lot of kids but he was good with those few he met. He does not get along with my senior Yellow Lab but is showing improvement with her lately. He does play well with my other dog. He is food possessive and must be fed alone if there is another dog because he will try to steal their food. He is not a barker unless there is good reason to bark. We will transport him within 50 miles for a meet and greet and further for verified fosters. We will also donate generously to any valid foster organization that takes him in. We are treating him as if we were fostering him but are hoping that another foster more experienced and successful in rehoming will come along. Having three large dogs at this stage in our lives is too much. He is a great dog and we want the best for him.
