Ciarra is very sweet and after just a week with her foster, she is starting to show affection, tail wagging, giving kisses, and smiles. She does well with children, and does not seem to mind strangers, and observes them quietly from a distance. Ciarra enjoys lounging in the sun, playing with her pink stuffed elephant, being around her people, and sitting with you while you watch TV or work at the computer. She is housetrained and will let you know she wants to go out by whining and doing a little dance. She likes you to pet her head and scratch her chin. On leash, she thinks she is in charge, but corrects well most of the time. With a little time and training she will be your best walking buddy. She loves car rides and is a real lady in the car. She is working on her crate and gate manners. She whines and cries but calms quickly. Ciarra is not dog or cat friendly. We don't know what happened to Ciarra before she was rescued, but we are sure if she could talk, she'd have a lot to say. Ciarra is heartworm positive and being treated for heartworms. She is also recovering from severe abrasions on her front leg. The pain was so severe that she had to be sedated for bandages changes. The bandages have been removed now, and she is healing nicely. However, she may have ligament damage that may or may not improve over time. This does not seem to cause her pain and does not impact her ability to walk or to go up and down stairs.
