About maverick

my daughter adopted maverick from the franklin county shelter in september he seemed to be the perfect fit for her and they quickly fell in love with each other the whole family quickly got attached to him he started having some behavioral issues about the beginning of the year nothing to bad jumping on people pulling on the leash ect.. she got him into a board and train trainer that was recommended to her and he went for 2 weeks in april he seemed fine when she got him back and was good with his commands eventually he started having issues with people coming into her apartment to the point he tried to bite the weird thing is he spends alot of time at my house and has no issues at all she took him to get evaluated from a trainer who specializes in aggression he said its called resource guarding and it only is with my daughter he feels he can be retrained the right way with her but its so expensive and she is 23 years old a special needs teacher and nanny so he would be around children anyone that is around her other than our house he tries to bite the trainer said he would not do this with someone else as she was the one who rescued him and provides for him as he is fine at our home but i watch my grandson and have children here off and on i would keep him in a heartbeat if it wasnt for kids it is absolutely devastating to think he may have to be put down she will be moving into a new apartment with a new roommate in august so we have till august 1st to find him a home he is very lovable, silly, playful he would make someone a loyal companion it is no fault of his own that the original owner abused and neglected him then the board and train trainer hurt him to train him the special trainer did a pain tolerance test with a shock collar and maverick could only make it to 6 which means he was hurt terribly by the choker collar at the board and train he just needs a chance
