About Friday-PENDING!

Friday is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wag and a kiss. What isn't clear in this shelter photo is how truly beautiful this little dog is with a stunning white coat with golden markings...and the world's cutest ears! Once Friday gets a sudsy bath and a thorough brushing, he will absolutely be one of the most adorable guys around. At 7 months old and 10 lbs, Friday is a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere a very sweet, small dog is welcome. Friday is every bit the young guy...fun and active. But at the same time he is a well-behaved and very happy guy (once he's used to his environment). Friday is most likely to express himself with his wagging tail and excited kisses of love. At this early point in Friday's development, he loves almost everyone..be it human or canine. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Friday to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We'd like Friday to attend positive reinforcement group obedience group classes to be the very best adult dog he's capable of being (Farfel's is happy to provide a list of force-free trainers in your area). We also feel Friday would be most comfortable with an adult family or one with older, dog-crazy kids where voices are softer and the energy is calmer. Right now, Friday is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved and most cuddly guy around. Friday is so loyal that he can easily be a constant companion - he would love nothing more than long walks, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend), lap-sitting or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Friday is flexible enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance...he can succeed. Friday's new family needs to have the motivation, energy and open heart for a young rescue dog. He requires behavioral guidance with boundaries and tons of love to give him a positive attitude about his world. Friday is a sensitive guy that wouldn't be happy while his family works full-time outside of the home. We're seeking a family for Friday that either is retired, works from home or part-time or can bring Friday to a pet-friendly workplace. Friday won't be neutered when he arrives in Denver - while we request it, there just aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of Texas.. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Friday's neuter and microchip after his arrival in Colorado if our Denver vet is used. Friday has the softest non-shedding (or lightly shedding) coat that you just want to pet all the time. He will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a daily supplement of salmon oil is recommended for longevity and coat care) to keep his coat cottony-soft and matt-free.
