About Harrington Hound

Foxhound / Lab
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

'I'm a baby--really I am!' That's what Harrington Hound says, and he is pretty much a baby, approx 1 year old or younger, and about 45 lbs. (He will get heavier). Harrington is some kind of hound mix. In his foster home, he was fine--housetrained, well-behaved, sweet, and loving. But when he went to the rescue to await his neuter, he was fearful. When cornered, he snapped. So he will be nervous and fearful in certain situations and needs to be socialized gradually. Harrington Hound is neutered, up-to-date on shots, housetrained, and tested negative for heartworms and Lyme. He also knows some commands, such as 'sit' and 'come.' He is good with other dogs, but he's big and he plays a little too exuberantly to be paired with a submissive smaller dog. He has lots of energy and needs a little work on his manners. He'd do best with a fenced yard and playmate or an active family. We recommend no small children, because Harrington Hound is big and still jumps on people.
