Otis is a sweet, adorable, loving and obedient 18 month old puppy. We have done professional training together for over a year now (still going) with a few different trainers, and he sits, stays, comes (most of the time!), is house broken and crate trained. He is gentle with our two littles dogs (chihuahua mix now about 6 yo female, and an 11 yo male shih tsu mix), and with my daughter (14) and son (13) and their friends. Otis has some protectiveness and we feel these issues are exacerbated by our circumstances - yappy nervous chi girl who barks at dogs going by, our senior dog snaps at him whenever he gets close, many people going in and out of the house during the day, lots of dogs walking by in our neighborhood, dense suburban neighborhood, etc. I have devoted countless hours to his training, which is still progressing. Otis goes regularly to doggie day care (1-2x week) and is one of their favorites - has never had an incident. He does similarly well with our dog walker twice a week, our groomer every couple months, and our boarder - a private home where the owner boards many dogs. His guarding only happens with me/our family and at the house/near the house. Otis doesn't like small children because he doesn't understand their weird awkward movements. Otis has shown leash cautious to other dogs if they are close and occasionally to people especially if they have an awkward gate or stare at Otis too much or otherwise seem like a threat to me but seems to only show it when he is with his close family.
