About Pepper

Greetings, my name is Pepper and I know I can add spice to your life. I was brought to WCHS to find a new home because my previous person passed away. I lived my whole life in one place with my sister so this situation is a bit unsettling but I just know the perfect family is out there ready to discover me. I do well with other dogs because I am calm and very tolerant. I do not play with other dogs much, I am more into just hanging out with them while I do my own thing, like sniffing around. I could live with gentle and respectful children of all ages, but I have not spent too much time with manners training so I need help remembering proper behavior; I get excited and jump up on people. In my previous home I did not get a chance for much exercise so I am looking for an active family who will provide outlets for my abundant energy. Truth be told, I am hoping you give me a job. I could do lots of things if I was given the opportunity to learn. I could carry a back-pack on our adventures or participate in agility or other canine sports. Even things like obedience and other classes can make me feel like I am working and contributing. I would also enjoy playing games with you or having mentally stimulating toys to help keep my brain busy; I take a heuristic approach to such things. I have been described as intelligent, affectionate, gentle, playful and active. I am a people-orientated gal with just a dash of mischievous that is sure to keep you smiling. I also have quite a distinctive look to me because they tell me my eyes are 'crossed'. I just figure, heck, why use both eyes to look at something when I only need to use one. I personally think that is quite efficient. That way, I can use my other eye to spy other things, like those pesky felines. I don't really care for them so I'd like a house without those little critters or I'll just chase them away. I am excellent with all types of handling and am always ready for a great scratch or cuddle. At 46 pounds I may be too much to be considered a lap-dog but I can certainly fit nicely right next to you.
