About Roland

Roland is a very loving and caring dog. We've had him since he was 8 weeks old and hasn't had any health issues. He is easily trained and picks up on human energy very very easily. He was around all kinds of people being raised, but we have had problems with him in the last year with territorial issues. He doesn't like strangers of any kind coming into the house and will bark and lunge at them. We've been working with trainers over the last year to try to train his slight aggressive tendencies, but we aren't able to socialize him as well as he needs to be. He needs an environment where he can be more active and have people work with him. He is very eager to please when we train with him, and is good when going through parks. I am in a wheelchair and my husband's and my schedules don't match up enough to give him the attention he needs. We live with another dog (who is a service dog) and they get along quite well. He picks up on things very fast, as it took us three days to house train him, and he learns new commands and routines within days. Roland is very willful and intelligent, and we just can't match his needs. He is very cuddly and will curl up on the couch, bed, floor, anywhere next to who he likes. He can be goofy and playful at the drop of a dime. We love him and would like to see him go to a home that would help him be the best dog he can be.
