About Tucker(RM)

Adoption Fee: $100
Basset Hound / Lab
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

The eyes are soft and pleading. He doesn't want to be here. He lost his home. He lost his papa. Most recently he lost his brother to adoption. When Tucker is outside he runs and runs as though he is mentally escaping his current existence. Or perhaps it is to create exhaustion and numbness in order to return to the confinement of the lonely kennel. Coming to the shelter in April was a big adjustment and Tucker struggled more than did his brother. His apprehension at the loss of everything familiar to him resulted in a tendency to shy away from visitors who would then move past him towards dog eager for their attention. He was accustomed to living a quiet somewhat isolated life with his brother Homer and their owner. Their owner could no longer care for the boys resulting in the upheaval in his secure little world. When outside and not feeling backed into the small space of the kennel, his personality emerges and he welcomes staff and visitors if there to provide companionship. He desperately wants someone to take him away from shelter life and allow him to again be somebody's baby. Tucker is 3-1/2 years old. He is a basset mix with stumpy legs and a low rider body. Arrival date April 17, 2018. His adoption fee is $100. All questions can be answered by calling the office at 706-865-4135. Photo in Comment 1 reflects Tucker's life 22 hours a day.
