This is George, but George is deaf so he doesn't really mind what you call him! George is a beautiful Catahoula x Kelpie mix with particular tastes. He loves blueberries and carrots, but doesn't care for apples and despises celery. He loves walks, but he prefers to avoid the hot sun since his pink skin is a little sensitive. He doesn't spend too much time exercising before he decides to find the softest surface he can find to stretch out on and gnaw a bully stick. George is about 2.5 years old and 67 lbs (though he could maybe stand to lose a few.) He is perfectly house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands by sign including sit, stay, release, no, come, lay down, turn, shake (both paws), and jump. He is very smart and sometimes needs a little help putting his brain power to good use. George has been experiencing some anxiety about his place in the world, and that's been manifesting as reactivity - growling, lunging, showing teeth - and dominance display. It's very important to note that George has NOT bitten any person or any other dogs, and he responds extremely well in his doggy daycare and boarding environments. He is a wonderful dog who simply needs a family with experience and a willingness to provide consistency, patience, and structure. He hasn't lived in a home with other pets for about a year, but since he does so well in boarding, he may do well if introduced properly. George's person is sending him to his forever family with all her love, and with all his material needs, including a kong crate and crate pad, two doggy beds, two leashes (one extendable), an easy walk harness, lots of fancy toys, water dispenser, tie out, water and food bowls, and even a backpack. Rehoming is one of the most difficult decisions any loving owner can make. George's person wants you to know that 'when George comes to trust you, he is loving, goofy, and always wants to be near you. After moving from place to place over his short life, he needs someone who has the ability to work through his issues and let him be the comfortable, best pup that he can be.' Do you know the right person for George? Could it be you?
