About Alceid

Beagle / Boxer
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Hi friend, my name is Alceid. I am a stout and handsome Beagle/Boxer mix searching for my forever home. I'm only four years old, but these four years have not been kind to me. After being kept in a cage alone and moved to a chain in a backyard alone, I am currently living at a cat rescue. Don't get me wrong, I love this place and it's the best home I've had so far, but I'm really looking for a family who will let me into their hearts and show me that the world can be a kind, loving place. I've been an outside dog for most of my life, but I'm doing great with crate training and house training. I'm a little energetic on the leash still, but it's mostly because I'm excited to finally be out in the world. What I want more than anything is to find a forever home with a family who will actually spend time with me and won't isolate me away from everyone. I'm a pocket sized guy, so it shouldn't be too hard to find some space for me on your couch! I would be a great match with another energetic dog, especially if we had a fenced-in yard to romp around in. Even though I can get excited sometimes, I bet I can outnap even the sleepiest owner (I probably snore louder, too)! I'd also like to develop my skills at professional couch snuggling, tennis ball catching, and smooching. If you'd like to meet me, please come to Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA on Saturdays between 10 AM and 1 PM. After all these years of being alone, it would be great to smooch a face who is just as excited to see me as I am to see them. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. For more information and to apply to adopt, please visit www.augustadogadoptions.org If you google our address, you will be directed to Richmond. That is NOT our adoption event location. If you have questions, please message us on Facebook.
