About T.J.

T.J. came to our rescue group originally from an owner who was no longer able to provide proper care due to her own diminishing health. When that owner was placed in a facility, no dogs were welcome. TJ thrived under our care here at Schultz Senior Dachshund Sanctuary. After a nice grooming, a couple of weeks of good food and tender loving care, TJ was ready to move on to his new adoptive HOME; we knew it would not take long for this nicest of dogs to find a new special someone to love him again. He joined another very nice dog named MIA, a Fox Terrier. They became inseparable. MIA is shy and quiet, and was happy to let playful TJ take the lead as she follows. It is a role each dog continues today. We were very saddened to hear that after many years of a happy life, TJ has again lost his owner. She passed away suddenly, and TJ and MIA are in need of a new home to call their very own. Both dogs are completely up-to-date on all veterinary needs. TJ has had a recent summer grooming, keeping his coat shorter in the warm summer months. The pair remains behind in the home where they were once very loved and adored, waiting for an owner who will never return to them. We are looking for a miracle. Someone who will offer heart and home to this very bonded pair of dogs. It would be cruel to separate them at this point in their senior lives. However, to SAVE their lives, we may have to separate them. They don't stand much of a chance in a public shelter for adoption; most senior dogs do not make it out alive..... If you are that special someone who can make a difference today for whatever tomorrows this pair may have left, please reach out. Time is of the essence; they are not able to remain in the residence they call 'home' right now too much longer......
