About Nike

Nike is a gorgeous 3 year old Belgian Malinois who is as sweet as she looks. She comes from a great working bloodline which carries the gene for long hair, resulting in Nike essentially being a Tervuren born out of working Malinois bloodlines. Nike has the traits and characteristics true to her breed. She is super smart and wants to please her humans. Nike comes from a reputable breeder/trainer who we have a good relationship with and has trained some of our rescue dogs. His dogs are of the highest quality and bred for service and working dogs as well as good family dogs. Nike is on the smaller side (38 to 40 lbs) for a working dog or breeding female, so she is being made available for adoption as a family companion. Her hips and elbows have already been x-rayed and certified. Nike is an awesome well-rounded dog that has been well socialized. She does well with all people and does best with male dogs. In the household, she appreciates being the only female canine. The foster family has two male dogs who she does well with. Due to her drive, we do not recommend cats. Nike would do well with an active family with a fenced in yard for play time but also requires structured exercise and mental stimulation. Experience with herding breeds is required. If you do not have personal experience with this breed but have done your research and determined this is the right breed for your lifestyle, we may consider you for adoption, but will require a contract of 6 weekly private training lessons, which will be added to the adoption fee. Nike's adoption fee is $350, a real bargain for this dog! With 6 private training lessons, the adoption fee is $1150, also a bargain since the adopter would be getting a discounted rate.
