About Candy

This sweet girl is Candy. Candy is a mix of terriers, the all-American type of dog. She is 25 pounds and 8 years old. She came to us from a shelter in Texas where she has been for the past 6 months. She was happy to be back in a home and have the freedom to run and play with other dogs. Candy gets along well with other dogs, which is amazing considering what she has been through. You can see from a couple of the pictures that one of her ears sits higher on her head than the other. That is because several months ago she was attacked by another dog and had a large wound on the top of her neck. She still has a major scar from the incident. But terrier mixes are a hearty dog and Candy is no exception. She is very healthy and active. She would enjoy a fenced yard and another dog her size to play with. Candy will be a little shy with new people, but as long as they give her time she comes around quickly. Candy does not enjoy being kenneled after her months at a shelter, but there isn't really any reason to kennel her. She is housetrained and enjoys her naps when no one is home. Candy may have a little greying hair but don't let that mark of character keep you from meeting her. She is a smart girl who is ready for a home where she can be comfortable for the rest of her life.
