About Madeline

Adoption Fee: $375
German Shepherd / Great Pyrenees
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

Meet Madeline a beautiful kind-hearted, quiet and sensitive pup in need of a loving home! This loving and beautiful girl was rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentuck with her 5 littermates. They were born on 3/30/18 and are 14 weeks old as 7/5/18. Three of the pups in the litter are a light tan color with black masks and Madeline and her two other littermates are black with white markings. A DNA test was taken from one of her sisters (Mackenzie, tan and black female) and the results came back as 50% German Shepherd 45% Great Pyrenees/ Anatolian Shepherd and 5% Kuvasz. All 6 of these puppies have rear dewclaws which are a distinguishing feature of the Great Pyrenees breed, so we think their mom must have been the Pyrenees/Anatolian mix. Madeline is the smallest pup (currently 20 pounds) in the litter and while the whole litter was shy, Madeline is the most bashful. She can be quite timid when meeting new people but is shortly won over with some kind words and treats. Once she's comfortable she is a very affectionate, gentle and silly girl. She absolutely loves to be cuddled and loves to snuggle! We think Madeline will do best in a quiet home and one that can help nurture some confidence in her. She loves other dogs and would be a wonderful companion for an existing canine! Given her current weight, we are estimating that Madeline will be 50-70 pounds when fully grown. Please keep in mind that puppies this young need frequent potty breaks (every 2-3 hours) and lots of playtime throughout the day. She'll do best in a home where people are home more often than not. Madeline is currently in a foster home on Chicago's north side and can be seen by appointment once an application has been received and approved. Her adoption donation to the rescue is $375.
