About Chunk

Chunk was an unclaimed stray. In his case, the owner was known, but chose not to claim. From his history according to the neighbors, he was often a stray, not very loved and was with some other dogs that seemed to pick on him. Sadly, Chunk tested positive for heartworms and had to undergo treatment for this very preventable disease. LUCKY for Chunk, he has had amazing fosters who have worked with him and nursed him through treatment. He now has a clean bill of health, knows some commands, and is ready for his forever home! We want Chunk to find a home where he is loved and valued as the amazing dog that he is. We feel fortunate to have come into his life to intervene and change it for the better. Chunk is a 3 year old, 60 pound, medium sized, pit mix. He's super goofy, fun, and affectionate with his people yet laid back and very well behaved in home. He does great with children. He does ok with certain dogs on a short term basis but would prefer a home all to himself. He would also prefer a home with no cats. Chunk is well behaved enough to be trusted to be left out of a crate, but is also ok being crated. He is house trained. Chunk is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm free. Chunk knows some hand signals and sits and stays like a pro. He tends to follow his people around the house and will lay at your feet in the kitchen as you cook. He is very good with routine and enjoys a fenced yard. He needs a little more work on leash, but is improving.
