Australian Kelpie

Lottie: Because, she won the lottery. This young lady was close! From Riverside shelter, Lottie had been there since May. She was going nuts!! But if you act out in jail, they just keep moving you farther away from people who might want to see you. She was on her last day when communication was established and a plan put in place. So she is here now. And everything I thought she would be. Sweet, mellow, polite, and she so wants a connection. We went on her first pack walk, second day here. I kept her on a long line and she walks beautifully on a leash. I didn't allow her off, but let her get to the end of her lead and called her to work on her name recognition and recall. Once home, I got the camera out, but she doesn't get far enough away in the yard to get a decent shot. But then Yo showed her how the self feeders work, so I got her on that. So here's a bunch of photos of Lottie eating, but it does show, she has no resource guarding tendencies, and neither does Yo. That is a must here, all dogs loose and 4 communal feeders and 2, 5 gallon waterers (water is a resource to be guarded too). It's a good skill to develop if they don't have it. She is 2 years old. Has a bobbed tail. Her coat looks like it should be black, but it's a tad brownish, so either her color, or her coat is a little washed out from the sun. Regardless, beautiful, athletically built, perfect Kelpie.
