About Cassie

My husband and I just had a baby, and unfortunately, our dog (Cassie) is not good with kids. She is playful, loyal, affectionate, and extremely intelligent. She's not good with kids and strangers (especially people coming into her home/space) and needs time to build trust with people before letting them into her 'pack.' She's not good with cats but does ok with most other dogs. She is an alpha female so mostly does well with male dogs or beta females. As an alpha female she would do best with a male owner or an assertive female owner. She is pretty chill and can sit around but LOVES going on walks and does great on leash (no pulling). She is house trained and can go for 12 hours without going outside. She knows commands such as sit, stay, wait, lay down, shake, up, come, heel, and place (tell her place and she'll go lay on her bed). She is up to date on all her shots and her heartworm/flee medicine, is fixed, and is micro-chipped. Unfortunately, she has bit 2 strangers' hands after they reached out to pet her. We are currently seeing an aggression specialist (K9 Working Minds) and the trainer says she can be trained and worked with on her 'protective and territorial aggression.' She may be a perfect dog for someone out in the country with some land, somebody who loves dogs and wants to put time in to train her, or somebody who needs an 'alarm system' and built in home protection. She really is a great dog and once you've gained her trust, she will love you forever.
