On Sunday, June 24, we found that a young male Pitbull/Lab had been abandoned at our church in Lowell, NC. He was very malnourished and had terrible fly bites all over his ears, but he was friendly and happy to greet everyone coming into the church. We decided to bring him home so that we could feed, bathe, and clean his wounds. On Monday, we took him to Lineberger Veterinary hospital in Gastonia, NC where he was sadly diagnosed with heart worms. The doctor estimated him as being only 3 years old. We had originally planned to get him healthy and then find a good home for him. We are not able to have a dog but we wanted to help him as much as we possibly could. Now that he is sick we are just at a loss as to what to do.
